Butterfly Bakery of Vermont started as a small natural foods bakery and is now a leading maker of farm-to-bottle condiments.
In the beginning, founder Claire Georges worked a day job at a bread bakery, then switched aprons to make cookies and granola overnight. Everything changed when a friend had a spare 800lbs of chili peppers (as friends sometimes do) and Claire started to make hot sauces for the farmers market and local stores. The hot sauces were an instant hit. Partnerships with local breweries, like The Alchemist, helped set BBVT apart from other hot sauce brands. And partnerships with local farms quickly turned BBVT into the largest user of Vermont grown chili peppers in the world.
In 2022 Butterfly Bakery of Vermont had the opportunity to become more than just a bakery that makes hot sauces. When Fat Toad Farm decided to sell their award winning goat’s milk caramel making operation, Claire realized that there was a great opportunity to expand the BBVT connection to Vermont’s working lands and become a premier maker of farm-to-bottle condiments.
Butterfly Bakery of Vermont and Fat Toad Farm products are sold around the world, still utilizing ingredients grown within 200 miles from our Barre, Vermont kitchen. Our balanced flavors and care for detail are the reason that we repeatedly win awards like the Scovies, Sofis and Good Food as well as are featured repeatedly on shows like Hot Ones. We are a mission driven company with strong commitments to our community and the world at large that can be seen through our Genersaucity program and regular ongoing donations to charities around the world.

If the courier is unable to deliver your order directly to your door due to reasons such as no one being home, access issues, or other circumstances, your parcel may be redirected to a nearby parcel shop for collection. If the parcel is redirected to a parcel shop, any further updates will be sent directly to you by the courier, as they will use the email address you provided at checkout to notify you of where and when to pick up your parcel.
Please track and collect your parcel promptly. If it’s returned to us, we reserve the right to charge:
