Saffron comes from Crocus Sativus, a delicate flower grown in arid high altitude areas. A flower only produces 3 stigmas, which must be harvested by hand, before dawn, because they wither at first light.
1 gram of saffron contains between 400 and 500 stigmas, dried with the greatest respect for Persian know-how.
A few pistils from our prestigious selection of Saffron will perfume your rice, fish and seafood with an inimitable aroma. We suggest a dosage of 0.1 grams for a dish of 4 people.
