Smash Burgers: The Ultimate Game Day Delight
When it comes to crafting the perfect burger, few things beat the crispy, juicy goodness of a smash burger. The secret lies in the technique: pressing the beef ball onto a hot surface to create that irresistibly crunchy crust, while keeping the inside juicy and flavorful. With the Super Bowl right around the corner, why not upgrade your game day spread with these easy-to-make, mouthwatering smash burgers? With a few simple ingredients and the right tools, you can make the best smash burger at home—no drive-thru required.
Ingredients:
• 500g ground beef (preferably 80 beef /20 pork for juiciness)
• Fleur de sel to taste
• Black pepper to taste
• Burger buns (toasted)
• Toppings: Great quality sauces, along with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Grill or Pan: Heat your grill, cast-iron skillet or pan to medium-high. Make sure it’s hot before you start smashing your patties!
2. Form the Patties: Divide the ground beef into equal portions (about 100-150g per patty). Roll them into balls—don’t worry about shaping them perfectly; the smash will do that for you.
3. Smash and Cook: Place the beef ball on the grill or skillet, and using the Grillart Stainless Steel Smash Burger Press, press down firmly to flatten the patty. Season with Fleur de Sel and black pepper while it cooks. Let it cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until crispy, then flip and cook for another minute for that perfect smash burger.
4. Assemble the Burger: Once your patties are done, place them on a toasted bun. Add any toppings you like, such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, or cheese.
5. Finish with Sauces: To elevate your smash burger, generously drizzle with top-quality sauces. Try Brussels Ketjep on the bottom bun and Brussels Ketjep Dallas Sauce (the best burger sauce there is, in our opinion!) on top of the patty.
Serve: Serve with crispy fries or onion rings for the ultimate Super Bowl experience.
Pro Tip: For an extra kick, add a dollop of Slap Ya Mama Cajun Hot Sauce to your sauce lineup for a bit of New Orleans flair.
